A day in Crazy Cats

As the children gain independence through their use of language and ever increasing physical and intellectual abilities they progress to our Crazy Cats room.

The children are able to choose which activities they wish to take part in, from those that are set up. They can play in the home corner with dressing-up clothes, or fly a duplo aeroplane; they can construct their own building or vehicle using sticklebricks and lego, play in the sand tray or try their hand at a puzzle or memory game.

A variety of art and craft activities are provided for the children which they always enjoy: making pictures, various forms of painting such as bubble, sponge or free painting, printing, collage and lots of other types of experimenting.

The children also take part in making their own playdough and cooking lots of goodies, sometimes for nursery tea, other times to take home and share with the family.

Those children who need a sleep can do so between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on beds provided in the main centre. There is a comfy area if they wish to sleep outside of these times.
